As primary editorial consultant for The Communication Connection, Kay has worked with organizations such as Coca-Cola, BellSouth, Turner Broadcasting, and MetLife. She's the author of three popular business books: Don't Let Your Participles Dangle in Public!, Business Etiquette and Professionalism, and Diversity in the Workplace: Communication is the Key. Her novel, Loving Mr. Lincoln: The Personal Diaries of Mary Todd Lincoln, is historical fiction at its finest. Her newest book, Writing for the College-Bound Student, was a nominee for the 2005 Georgia Author of the Year award.

                            

Kay has served as editor for many newsletters, including ASTD’s The Exchange for two years, which won the 1994 Professional Contribution Award. The Georgia Toastmasters’ newsletter won the national newsletter award the first year she was editor. She also served as editor and publication chair for the National Speakers Association magazine, Professional Speaker, for two years. In addition, she wrote and published her own subscription newsletter for almost ten years. Today she serves as newsletter director/editor for the National Speakers Association Georgia Chapter’s Soundly Speaking and Life Enrichment Services’ The Friendly Visitor.

Kay is a member of: American Copy Editors Society (ACES) National Speakers Association (NSA), National Speakers Association Georgia Chapter (NSA GA), Georgia Writers Association (GWA), Southern Order of Storytellers, National Women's History Project, Association of Lincoln Presenters, Magnolia Storytellers, and Hosea's Feed the Hungry team. Kay is also listed in Elizabeth Lyon's National Directory of Editors and Writers and Who's Who of American Women.
